KUCHING: Have you heard how a beautiful princess named Santubong became a prominent mountain in Sarawak?

Today, Mount Santubong’s beauty continues to be an attraction itself. It has become a popular recreational place among the young and old from near and far. Its rich biodiversity is also a crowd puller among researchers and nature lovers.

Come August 10, a story telling session in Mandarin on the legend of Mount Santubong will be held at the Amphitheatre, Jalan Budaya here from 4.30pm to 5.30pm.

The story telling session is jointly held by the Malaysian Nature Society Kuching Branch (MNSKB) and Ika Picture Story House as one of the many lead up activities to Santubong Nature Festival.

Parents with children Mandarin speaking below 12 are encouraged to attend the session. Participation is free.

Ika Picture Story House founder Tay Yit Ping promises to regale participants with interesting tale of Santubong and its rich biodiversity.

Conceptualised by MNSKb, Santubong Nature Festival will be held over two days on November 8 and 9 in Permai Rainforest Resort. Monthly lead-up activities are held beginning in July and these include talks, walks, cruises held in Kuching, and in Santubong.
