Eco-Fashion Contest: Registration Form & Rules & Regulation

General Rules and Regulations 

1. Entries may be in the form of group and individual participation.

2. There is no entry fee to the contest. Participation is by invitation only.

3.  Participation is open to all secondary school, college or university students aged 15 and above.

4. Entry form can be obtained from Santubong Nature Festival website at http://santubongnaturefestival.blogspot.com/ and must be submitted latest by 25 October 2013. (A copy of the entry form is also attached).

5. The competition will be held at Damai Central, Santubong on 9th November 2013. Participants will be given until 5th November to complete or (those using perishable or short life span material) part complete their design. Email in photographs in JPEG (jpg) format by 6th November 2013 12:00 noon to confirm participation and also for the organizers to prepare the correct ambience for participants to showcase their work on stage at approximately 6:00 pm on 9th November 2013.

6. Entries must be based on fashion design using recyclable materials such as plastic bags, used paper, plastic bottles, and scraps of old fabrics, wire, metal or anything else that is usually thrown away. Designs can also add on accessories made out of recycled materials.

7. The entry must have 70% of its design using discarded, used or recyclable items.

8. Contestants must use or bring their own materials for their fashion designs.

9. Contestants must complete the competition themselves without assistance from any third party.

10. Contestants are required to provide name of design and its designers or institution, including inspiration for the design, types and sources of materials used.

11. Contestants must provide their own models for the actual event day.

12. Judging shall be based on creativity and innovation, usage daily discarded or recycled materials, environmental message, presentation (fashion show) – quality, visual display and clarity of information provided.

13. Each winner is only entitled to one prize and the organisers reserves the right to change prizes (s) of an equivalent value without prior notice.

14. Prizes offered in the contest 1st Prize (Trophy and Shopping Voucher worth RM500.00), 2nd Prize (Trophy and Shopping Voucher worth RM300.00) and 3rd Prize (Trophy and Shopping Voucher worth RM200.00).

15. The organizer reserves the right to use photographs of winners and their work for the purpose of advertising and promotions.

16. The organizer reserves the right to modify or vary the rules and regulations, cancel or suspend the competition should there be any discrepancy in the competition.

17. All exhibits and participants’ property will be at the risk of the competitor and no liability can be accepted whatsoever for any loss or damage sustained by any participants.

18. By participating in this contest, all participants are deemed to have accepted and agreed to be bound by these Rules and Regulations.
